Guerila - Vipava Valley, PRIMORJE REGION
The GUERILA story officially started on the 25th of May 2006 with launching wines of vintage 2004 and 2005. Winery is being owned by Zmago Petric whose family tradition of grape growing and wine making is being passed from generation to generation. Winemaking technology is being carried on by winemaker Uros Bolcina, winemaker with international winemaking knowledge and experiences.
Winery GUERILA is located in Planina-Vipava valley. It has capacity of 30,000 litres of wine with possibilities and plans of expansion. GUERILA owns 8 hectares of vineyards, located on extremely southern parts with maximum sun exposure, on the altitude 400-250 meters above sea level. Type of soil is flish; prevalent planted varieties are zelen, pinela, rebula, merlot, and less of barbera, sauvignon, pinot white and malvasia. All the vineyards are taking part in integrated system/surveillance of grape production with taking big care for the environment. Part of grape is being carefully selected and bought from the grape growers.
Story of quality starts in the vineyards with minimal yields per hectare and less than 1,5 kg of grape per vine. Next step is winery, where the knowledge and technology/experiences gained in all Worlds most important wine producing countries mixed with tradition is being expressed in the wines. And last but not the least, another quality parameter is superb design. Our wines are expression of soil and grape varieties grown in Vipava valley, as well an expression of maximal oenological knowledge. Wines being defined as dry, with strongly expressed fruity flavours, crispy, full bodied. Our wines go in time with today stile of life, cuisine and high demands of consumer.
