It Was A Good Year, Inc. begins the celebration of its 40th year as a wine education and tasting club with a dinner at Farmers and Chefs featuring a Slovenian menu and wines. A club for those who enjoy drinking and learning about wines, IWAGY holds tastings in Poughkeepsie ten times a year.

Farmers & Chefs, founded by John Lekic, is guided by a vision that our local food and community can combine to form a vital connection of good eating with health and wellness. Focusing on local and in season ingredients, Farmers & Chefs offers delicious food and warm hospitality, for a share in the bounty of the Hudson Valley.

Slovenia is just across the Adriatic Sea from the northern Italian peninsula, which includes Friuli and the Veneto. Slovenia’s cuisine has some similarities to that region of Italy, but is not identical. John Lekic, the owner of Farmers and Chefs, hails from nearby Montenegro. The wines have been selected by Slovenian wine importer Emil Gaspari.

Red Wine Demi-glace, Wild Mushrooms, Fingerling Potatoes, Cipollini Onions and Thyme

The dinner will be held in the upstairs event room. Access to this room is by way of the stairs from the main entrance level, or a short walk up the sidewalk to an entrance without stairs.

Parking:
Farmers and Chefs has a parking lot diagonally across Albany Street from the Restaurant (corner with Dutchess Avenue). There is also on-street parking on Albany Street and Dutchess Avenue.
